This deficit is a barrier to care for children with cancer in sub-Saharan Africa, and a potential contributor to consistently sub-optimal pediatric cancer treatment and lower survival rates. To address this, innovative approaches to increase pediatric radiation expertise in Africa are necessary, leveraging the rise of technology and partnerships with international organizations and experts. Remote continuing medical education utilizing technology is valuable in overcoming the limits of regional resources; and eliminating geographic, distance, time, and travel variations and restrictions.
